I`ve been looking for a nice mirror for one of my rooms in my home – and don`t seems to have any luck with finding it.  This came up for sale today on a yard sale – although not really what I want – i`m tempted to get it.   The price is right – but just not the kind of mirror I want – so I guess I`m just going to hold out on this.

Wall dressing is so important in a home – be it an apartment or an entire house you have – but I’m not as bold as the friend – I don’t have a huge painting in my dining room like she has – but this definitely is something everyone should think about.  Why?  because it looks so distinctive and takes your breathe away when you walk into a home.  I loved this but my home walls are never as huge – what a pity eh.

Recommended on a magazine here – I went ahead to order it from Chapters – this multi message board is great when you have kids who can have their photos or their friends and anything they want to pin up in their room instead of all wanting to use the fridge.  The youngest kid loves handicraft – so it would be a great way to show off her work and the bulletin board can be used for us to write her spelling words on – for her to practice everyday.   $39 – the board is not very huge though – but it will work for now.  Oh did i mention that shipping is free at Chapters within Canada – if order is above $25.

I’ve always loved chinese calligraphy – i think as an Asian – nothing says more than appreciating Chinese Calligraphy – that goes way back – to my forefather’s time.  My old house back home has one like this – but it was written horizontally and not vertically.  The reason why i didn’t want it written horizontally is because – it wouldn’t be so unique.  So I am looking for a place where I can buy Chinese calligraphy online – or if someone has any idea where I can get good work done – let me know – I’ve already picked out a place to place this piece of artwork.

Have you watched the movie – The Joneses?  if you have – you will understand why I am inspired by their wall.  They had a full portrait of their entire family – individual and together pictures in black and white – it was a stunning wall.   I am indeed inspired by their wall and what they did – and am currently looking for a photographer to do the same for us and our family.  I think it is such a great idea !  will show everyone the end work once it is done – I am so happy – because it is definitely something I can see all of us doing well in – the entire family loves taking pictures.

i’ve always said that decorating one’s home need not be expensive if you know how to use your creativity.  Brackets like the above picture is like a gold bullion of ideas – when it is shown to someone who is handy and who uses their imagination.  I saw this at Real Simple and thought to myself – what wonderful idea -especially for those who are just starting out – in their own apartment – and for those who are doing up their dorm room for college or university – why not try this.  A few brackets and some oldist book to and some screws and there you have it – but make sure you don’t put too much or too heavy stuff on them.  A really good idea for a few bucks.

So you want to be a little classy and decorate your wall with some arty – farty painting. Nothing wrong with that at all – but while i wait for a sale to come on at an art gallery – one can now look for them online and affordable too.   Artmuse was founded by an art loving person who believed that art shouldn’t be expensive.  One can find a really wide range of contemporary art – illustration, photography and painting – at the right price and you can choose to either both the limited edition or the open edition and they start really cheap from $25.  I must say i am pretty impressed.

I don’t know about you but at my home – i make sure we have fresh guest’s towels at our home all the time and if my house guest/s needs wrinkle creams i can provide that too – hahah!  But yes, do you keep your towels and the guest/s one separate? or do you let your house guest/s use yours as well?

I find that it is more personable if you have the guest/s towels in their guest/s bathroom – but what if you have a common bathroom and no guest/s bathroom.  Now that can be tricky eh?  I’ll go hunt for towels with “guest/s” written or sewn on it.   I can’t imagine wanting to use the host’s personal towels  - would  you?  So when i saw some for sale – i always buy them and keep them.   What about you?

If you don’t know by now, the spouse just got rid of his 53″ rear projection tv and bought himself an 52″ plasma with his Aeroplan miles from Future Shop.  After waiting for its delivery for 2 months – yes! you heard me right 2 months the spouse is now thinking of getting a cabinet to put the plasma on or to hang it on the wall and have a Amish fireplace for decorating purpose.

I have absolutely no objection in getting one if only our tv room is bigger – but to get rid of the rear projection tv – a huge monster and the bridge tower he had bought for that particular tv some 5 yrs ago and then to have more than we need – i told him no way.  Men!
