We have been eying on buying a pair of front loaders for a long time now – but we wanted to wait for the right price – because we know that Sears do have great deals.   This blue color pair was my favorite when we saw it at Sears showroom a couple of weeks ago but at that time – it didn’t have a discount.  Plus, you all know that taxes is like 15% – and I didn’t want to pay $1700 for the pair when you can get them at $1150 – a good savings of a few hundred dollars.

Why a front loader?  to save energy and water – plus our old pair is quite old and dirty.  Using it for about 10 yrs now – so it’s high time to retire the poor girl.  So we will go and look for this new pair – hopefully we don’t get charge for delivery because we have to pay an extra $40 to a local delivery company – which I am not sure of.

We are in need of a washer and dryer – ours is old – and sometimes – our laundry can be quite funky smelling.  So yes  – we have to get one really soon.  But I’ve heard so  much good things about the front loader – I’m inclined to buy a front loader this time.  But having said that – I’ve read reviews that the top loader is no different – plus the front loader is alot noisier when it is washing.   Of course – pricing wise – the front loader is a lot more expensive – but they say the savings in the long run is worth the extra initially.  What do you think? These days even the top loading machine has the energy efficiency star label on it – so do I want to pay more for a machine that is the same?  I’m going talk to the local supplier and see what I decide.

If and when your air dried clothes come out stiff, you will know then that you are using too much detergent.  By using half that is recommended from the detergent company – your clothes and sheets will feel softer – and they last longer as well.

Yes! i’m a convert – i’m a front loader all the way – haha! like some people who uses the Mac versus the PC – cute!   The reason for the change?  well, it was really fluke to be honest – i was looking for info on  diet pill side effects but instead came across all the benefits of converting into a front loader.

Front loaders are more expensive than the conventional type of washer and dryer but they are quite different because they operate without an agitator and doesn’t make as much noise as far as i am concerned.  But the most important thing is – they are environmentally friendly. They don’t need as much water and holds a bigger load and save energy by reducing water heating.  Clothes looks and last longer – with front loaders.  You try it out yourself and let me know – i think this must be one of the best buys we’ve had in a long time.

As we prepare to have our basement done, I cannot get over the fact that the laundry room is gonna be slighted.  To me the laundry room is a time where daughters and mothers bond, sure we don’t need anything sophisticated like those barcode scanner in the laundry rooms of big hotels but something cosy and like the one on the above picture would be best.  If mothers and daughters can sit and sip and enjoy the garden or the outdoor walk while waiting for the laundry to be done would be perfect.

I certainly need one of this.. and not just for the summer.. for the fall and spring as well.. when i need to hang out my heavy sheets to air.  Can’t use the portable one, way too messy – someone asked me how I can use  online storage for them but why would i wanna spend that kinda money right??   Albeit a little more expensive than I want to pay for it, I know i really need it to air some stuff before storing them away till winter.  Saving the environment and using less electricity or power is definitely what i look forward to.

I told the man that when the basement is completely renovated, I want to repaint and section off the laundry room to be colorful and warm.  That way, anyone who is on laundry duty will love going down to the laundry room and not worried that it is cold and dark down there or even dirty and dusty.  My laundry hamper is gonna be the most colorful.. just to brighten up the laundry room.
