Loving to cook – inspire ones to grow your own herbs for your cooking pleasure – therefore I went on the internet to look at ways to grow my own herb garden – after all how hard can it be right? I think I’m going to enjoy it a lot – so to start with – I have to look for some pots – but where oh where should i plant the herb? window sill in the kitchen ? or a corner in the dining room or kitchen? Now I learned that herbs need lots of sunlight – at least 6 hrs a day. I would like to grow some basil, oregan, chives and mint since I used a lot of these in my cooking and of course Parsley – my favorite. Garlic is also my favorite but I doubt I’m so adventurous. Now should I start from seed or a live plant? seed is easier I guess? no? I also need potting soil as well as good drainage – since I am cooking with the herb – I have to make sure that they are quality potting soil and fertilizer need to be ones that can be used with edible plants – that way I won’t poison the entire family. One thing I have to remember is that I cannot overdose the herb with water – as soaking wet soil is not something that herbs like. Wish me luck!

Love the nice weather for the last few days and out came all our t shirts and we all went gardening and sitting around the lawn and sipping our home made margaritas. The children love that we are all outdoor with them – it is great bonding time with them and they were on the trampoline and the swing – the entire day. Glad we had bought some t-shirts for everyone during a sale – for the summer – so we are all prepared – and no need to run out of cool looking t-shirts for the kids and the beau. They wear their t-shirts all summer and it’s great for me because I don’t have to iron them or they are easy to wash and dry. Don’t you just love the summer now.

I was invited to a garden tea party recently by the spouse’s CEO’s wife – with the rest of the other ladies whose spouses worked for the company. As you can see from the picture – the tea pots and cups were beautiful and besides talking about family and home – some of the ladies are pretty powerful at work in their own rights. Some are lawyers who have dealt with huge cases and collaborated with other lawyers from USA like the lawyer tucson and some own their own businesses but one thing for sure – they all are in tuned with what their spouse’s are doing and are very supportive.

You see all our spouse’s travel a lot for work – like today – my spouse is actually not in town today – so you can imagine how grateful we are for this meet up and getting to chat together about our spouse’s work and insurance and taking care of our kids without our spouses around town. We also exchange ideas about how to handle emergencies and injuries that may occur at work and health insurance as well. I really like networking with other spouses because it gives me a greater insight about what other women experiencing or what to expect when your spouse is away. It was a pretty good afternoon.

While I don’t have the green fingers – I have a great friend who has one – in fact – he helped me re – pot a very old plant that needed to be re-potted a long time ago. So finally, my dear old faithful plant got re – potted and I’m so happy – because I was like torturing the old plant with a small pot and I know it needed more space a long time ago. Anyhow, this dear friend of mine told me that I need to fertilize my old plant now – so I went looking for a fertilizer. Of course, one can use the original fertilizer but since this is an indoor plant – i needed something more organic and doesn’t smell. I found this age old organic grow and I’m going to try it out. Age Old Grow has a combination of fish, seaweed and is odorless and acts as a liquid plant food.

Spring clean up for the town is next week and if only they had given us some personalcreations/sweatshirts to go with the clean up now that would have been perfect right? Every year the kids and I volunteer with the town’s spring clean up – at the beach and around town – but each year we had suggested some tacky sweatshirts for the volunteers – but they never did give us any. So this year – the regulars decided to order our own personalized sweatshirts for ourselves and show the town – how to do it the right way. So we are all ready with our personalized sweatshirts for the clean up next week and guess what the mayor said to me this morning during the meeting? That he wanted a personalized sweatshirt too! hahahah!!! so I told him – that he can get one – if he paid for the rest of the volunteers. So hopefully, he does the right thing – by making sure all the regular volunteers get their wacky tacky sweatshirts every year.

The neighbors around us are almost all fishermen and during a certain month of the year – they are usually not home because of the fishing season. For those who are not aware of this – fishermen have the most toys – from 4 wheelers to snow blower and heavy duty tools in their garage and shed. Of late, there had been some break ins and most of these fishermen are not insured for tools and their 4 wheelers as they are not “in” the house. I know that some are already using cctv cameras inside and outside of their shed – to catch whatever activities that they do not want happening, so I was quite surprised that the neighbor on my left didn’t want to invest in one those CCTV cameras. I for one would definitely get one of those cameras – not only will it deter theft but it definitely would catch any illegal activities when we are not around. For security purpose – we too have invested in one of these cameras not because we are afraid we might get rob but more so, we don’t want our children to be using the shed or garage for naughty business.

We have been helping the in-laws to clean up their green house this fall and spent a few days doing it – finally the green house looked decent for the winter. They are going to put in some heaters for the tomatoes and other veggies that they grow in there during the winter. But the daughter came back and develop a rash first and then acne later – she was devastated. So we checked with the pharmacist and got some treatment for her – for the daughter told her grampie that he needs to get her the best acne treatment because it had to be the fall cleaning up that caused the acne – haha! Luckily for her – we did find her some really good stuff – but she said she wasn’t going to help with any clean up at her grampie’s no more. I think it is just an excuse – not to get her hands dirty.
