I love Aussino so much – I had to ask my friends from home to buy some for me when they go on sale – and mail them to me.  Aussino has the best looking sheets – best designs but I have to say that they may not feel as good as fleece sheets.  So I only use them during the summer – because the kids don’t like hard sheets.

I so missed this store – from home – and they don’t even have an online store – what a pity for all of us Aussino’s fan!   If you know an online place where I can buy Aussino sheets in Canada or US – please drop me a line or a comment.   Did i tell you that Aussino sheets are very affordable too – i used to buy them in dozens when they go on sale.

When you have kids between the age of 7 right up to their teens – you can expect them to want to invite their friends over for sleepovers.  So when we had to buy a new bed for one of the kids – we were debating whether we should get them the  adjustable beds or the bunk beds – or should we just stick with a twin bed for each of them and then have them all sleep on the floor when they have friends over?

Winter can get very cold and we don’t heat up the basement that much in the winter – so for the kids to sleep on the floor – now that may not be a welcome idea for other moms.  I mean – i wouldn’t want my kids to sleep on someone’s floor right?   So we decided on some bunk beds instead for all of them in their room after much discussion – but not my oldest daughter – she wanted a queen size bed because she said she only want one of her best friend/s over at any one time and they can share the bed together.  At 15 yrs old – you cannot really argue with her very much – so there we decided the boys get the bunk beds with pull outs even at the bottom and the 15 yrs old – she gets the adjustable bed that she picked for easy reading and working on her computer. Kids!

It’s getting so hot these days – we were out getting some natural acne treatment for the niece but the man wants to put some fan in the basement where his game room is – because we don’t want to spend too much on a portable air con – even though i doubt we would use it a lot since we are not always at home.  So he showed me some fans that he wants and not just any ordinary fan he wants – he wants a man fan!  and this fan is expensive – although really pretty. Fans are now not only for keeping the room and people in the family but it has to blend with the decor of one’s home as well and this enigma fan is bold, well designed and very modern.  But for $1500 and if it makes him happy, I would not stop him – what about you? would you stop your spouse if he wants to decorate the house?

Re-decorating our guest room this year was the plan we had last year because of the many guests that are heading this way from home.  This summer – we are expecting the extended family to arrive and simplicity was the theme of our guest room this year.  Why?  it’s easy to manage when they are gone and for cleaning up – plus we didn’t really want to overspend on re-decorating the guest room too much.  We kept our carpet flooring even though i would have preferred laminate for the guest room but we could’t find anything that was cheap enough, we gave the guest room some new curtains and soft lightings as you can see and plenty of cabinet space.  What does your guest room look like?

While helping a dear friend with her son’s graduation announcements I did a little scavenger hunt myself and found this gem – a Crate and Barrel Vendome Bed for only $300.  Now that’s a really good buy and if only I was in the States and not in Canada – I would be the first to be getting it.  As we all know that Crate & Barrel’s bed can go as high as $900 – so this one is definitely a steal.  It also goes with my guest room decoration – and whether it’s for a male or female it works – for me.  What I like most is the legs of the bed – and that it is not stuck to the floor – you can vacuum underneath – i do not like even to have my bedside table without a stand – makes it really dusty and a dirt trap.  I just wished we have great finds like this in Canada.

Storage for the princess room has been an issue for a long time now – she has too many toys and all sorts of stuff – from  custom hats to movies. story books and gadgets.   We’ve been trying to find a solution for storing everything and resortted to getting those boxes that one can place under her bed.   But i noticed they are so hard to pull out and just unsightly even though they are supposed to be outta sight.

So when I saw this featured at ohdeedoh – i had to quickly take this picture down to get my inspiration from  – but the only thing is, we still need a sort of a chest of drawers for her clothes.  Don’t get me wrong, she already have a walk in – but her dresses are just way too much.  Clothes from her grandparents, aunt and godparents are just massive.   So yes – still i would like a chest of drawer but what kind – i’m still keeping a look out.

This antique dresser is made with a marble top and i am in love with it – but seller wants about $300 for it and I’m just not willing to part with so much money.  But such a rare find and what a pity that I can’t get it – so here i am reading about diet aid and drooling about this antique dresser.   I wonder if there was a way i can blackmail the spouse to get this for me for an early birthday present?  the in – laws gave me some chinese table runners as a early birthday present today now that would be perfect for the dresser  – hahah!  If you look carefully – the dresser’s knobs are in perfect shape and the seller obviously had taken care of this unique antique dresser – now to find a way to buy it.

I’m not much of a DIY gal but when i saw this on Apartment Therapy – i figured that this would be a great thing to do with my daughter, plus save money to buy my  hgh supplement.  You can either give it away as a gift or hang it in your kid’s room after you are done with it.   But the butterfly punch is expensive though – but if you are thinking of making more than 1 – than it is definitely worthwhile.  Some jewelry wire, scissors, thread and ribbon and of course the cutter and you are all set.

I have been looking for the right dresser for the longest time and while i was reading up on  proactiv reviews , the spouse showed me this from  West Elm. Slim and narrow – just right for someone without a lot of space in the room but yet very sleek looking – i could live with that.  But at almost $400 + shipping – it’s a bit more than what i want to pay for for a dresser.  But having said that I wouldn’t mind paying more for an antique one.. but if you are in the market to get one – try looking at West Elm – they have it in different colors.

One of my ex-co worker invited me for her baby shower at her mother-in-law’s place, she also wanted to thank me for the  prenatal vitamins that i had recommended to her when she wanted to have babies.  What surprised me at her in -laws house was a nursery all set up – you see they don’t lived with their in-laws and my ex co-worker had quit her job to attend to the baby full time when he/she arrives.

The baby’s room was full furnished and one would have mistaken that the baby was gonna live with the in-laws.  I would have really appreciated if my in-laws did that but nope, in my in-laws house they don’t have a proper place to even let her sit and enjoy a show with them.  Envious? very! what about you ? are your in-laws or outlaws thoughtful?
