We were at a friend’s cottage home – a few Sundays ago – you see summer cottages are cheap here and friends from United States spends their summer here.  A place by the ocean is nice and cheap and who wouldn’t want to spend time in the sun and sea all summer right – plus the standard of living is low here as compared to the city in United States.  But this cottage needs some fixing and a distributor water filter is a must for this cottages – because they mostly use well water.

The cottage is well – furnished but mannnn!! the water condition in my humble opinion is not the best.  All they need is a good water filter in their home and they will be all set.  I don’t know if they have a water filter distributor here – but if they can find one – they can even be in business for it.  I bet the other cottages around Nova Scotia and PEI can use some.  Only the town has town water that are filtered here – but not in the country i think.  Good thing they had bottled water to drink when we were there.

We wanted to give the kids their own bathroom – so they don’t have to scream and fight over it every morning – but in order to have an extra bathroom – it has to go into the basement.  The bathroom won’t cost much – but the plumbing and the sectioning out the space in the basement that would cost us.  A no frill bathroom was what the kids requested – the boys – so we saw a sample of the above in a showroom in town and priced them up and yes – this summer – work starts for a new bathroom for the boys.  The boys are excited – what do you think?  the price to pay for keeping the peace at home.

Guest bathrooms ?  a friend who was house hunting right now asked me if having a guest bathroom is important when considering buying a home.  I cannot stress enough how important it is – to insist on having one.  Why?  one cannot live with just one bathroom especially if you are living with another person.  Now if you have a kid – that is even more reason to get a guest bathroom.  If i could turn the clock back – i would one a bathroom for everyone.  Yes! that’s how important i view having a guest bathroom but having said that remember if you have another bathroom in the house – then you can do without a guest bathroom – but if you don’t have one – then you have to insist.  LIfe will  never be the same if you only have one bathroom and i’m not saying it lightly either.

Yes! i’m a convert – i’m a front loader all the way – haha! like some people who uses the Mac versus the PC – cute!   The reason for the change?  well, it was really fluke to be honest – i was looking for info on  diet pill side effects but instead came across all the benefits of converting into a front loader.

Front loaders are more expensive than the conventional type of washer and dryer but they are quite different because they operate without an agitator and doesn’t make as much noise as far as i am concerned.  But the most important thing is – they are environmentally friendly. They don’t need as much water and holds a bigger load and save energy by reducing water heating.  Clothes looks and last longer – with front loaders.  You try it out yourself and let me know – i think this must be one of the best buys we’ve had in a long time.

This is my dream tub and I really don’t know if It is me or just about everyone – that our tub has just got to be right in order for us to enjoy our soak.  I love my present tub but nothing compares to this one I had been eyeing on for years.  This tub reminds me of an old – fashioned tub my grandparents used to have when I was a kid.  We were never allowed to use it because the energy auditor at home said it was too expensive to run the tub then – but that was during the 70s.   I would love to get something like this – but at a reasonable price of course – else the spouse would probably not let me buy any handbags no more.   If you know of someone or somewhere I can get this tub at a reasaonable price – please let me know.

Handmade Soaps are such a blast to have in the guest’s washroom, just like the  hgh supplements i accidentally found in my host’s kitchen cabinets – Gems!  Goat’s Milk Soap is magical. I tried it once and never went back. My skin has never been softer, or better moisturized. Goat’s Milk Soap is also generously kind and gentle to sensitive skin, and has lovely restorative properties, too!  You have to special order them from Etsy of course and your guests will loved them.  In fact, many were so amused they went online to order some immediately.

Who uses shower caddy like this one these days?  Some 10 yrs ago, I would have thought this was the best invention but for those who are not aware of this, it’s really a dirty collector.  It’s handy of course but when you leave it and not clean it often enough or if you are not getting them as stainless steel ones, then you will have a very rusty looking and hard to clean caddy for all your shower stuff.  How did i know?  I was getting some free insurance quotes when we bought our house and this lady who was also getting hers went on and on about it.  Of course, I didn’t really believed her and thought she was an el cheapo and didn’t buy a stainless steel one – well, i went out to buy one that claimed to be “stainless steel” but guess what? a few months down the road, it all started to turn color – so I never ever bought another one.

Yes ! i hear you asking, what about the plastic ones?  well, with the plastic ones, they looked really cheap and plus with the shower on all the time, depending on how hard your water is in your area, it will still look like scum in a few months.  So what i suggest?  bring your soap and shampoo into the shower when you need it and when you are done with it, make sure to dry them up and bring it outta the shower onto your vanity counter in the bathroom.

When i first arrived in Canada – i was really fascinated with these plush toilet seat covers – in fact – what i did was bought the most expensive one i could find at our local store here – a Martha Stewart brand if i didn’t remember incorrectly.    You see – i wanted my bathroom/toilet to look comfy and warm – yes – kinda silly but you  know how we girls are right?  The spouse said i wanted to mark my terrority but little did i know that having plush seats like that can be quite dirty.  Imagine all the dirty water from the toilet bowl stuck onto this plush covers and your kid touches it while getting up and down the toilet – then go and wipe his our her face without even thinking of how dirty it is – trouble begins and even the  best acne treatment will not help unless your remove these seat covers.   So be careful what you put on your toilet seat – if and unless you can wash them every other day – it’s not worth risking your family’s health – especially those who has younger children.

I was ready to call in a plumber yesterday because my sink was going into a very slow and ugly death.  We can’t understand what could have gotten stuck in the sink coz’ my kid definitely wouldn’t throw anything into the sink, there were no gold coins in it either – that is for sure.  The sink was so plugged up, it was getting to a point where I don’t even want to rinse my hands in the bathroom sink.

We had tried other Dranos before and vinegar as some had recommended but nope – all didn’t work.  So last night the spouse bought this Drano Max and throw in half a bottle and used some hot water boiled and 15 mins later, my sink was unclogged.  Thank God – Hallelujah! yes – that was how much joy i had.  So if you ever need to unclog your stubborn sink – try Drano Max.

My travel insurance man is actually a customer turned into a friend.  Since I traveled so much for work before, I know that even when we are on vacation, it is important to have some kind of insurance just in case something does happen while one is on holiday.  Of course, we don’t want anything bad to happen.. but one has gotta watch out for your own’s back right?   Simple decor like the above is a hit immensely and immediaately.  It doesn’t cost much and last forever.  Try it..!
