Weeding

I hate wedding like i hate chin acne but it needs to be taken care of and like my grandfather used to say – if you don’t want to weed – pour some damn cement onto the ground and be done with it.   Alas, my backyard has too beautiful a scenery to poor cement on – so weed away i go.

So what are weeds ?  well, pretty much anything you don’t want is weed – so don’t let them take out your garden space.  For me – I get my kids to help and if your kids won’t get girlfriends over for tea party and they would help you.

I always try to pull up the weeds before they go to the seed and spread themselves around the garden.  I also try to get the whole weed including the root.  Get them while they are young because they are easier to pull, another trick i learned from my grandfather is to wet the ground before you start weeding – and you should try after it has rained.  I would try to drag out as much weed as possible.
