Swimming Pool In The BackYard

Who doesn’t want a swimming pool in their backyard right?  but how feasible is it i asked myself everytime I am tempted to try get one going.  Especially when our winter last for at least 6 months and another 3 months of chilly wind and foggy sky – welcome to Canada?  Plus while i was renewing my  life insurance i had asked my agent if i needed more insurance for the house if i had a pool.

But that’s another story for another time – how much digging and how much maintenance would one need for a backyard pool.  I know some of my girlfriends in LA and New York have pools right at their backyard -  but they had said that the pool came with the purchase of the house.  I would think some major work is required to put a pool in  but i heard that hiring a landscaper is very important.  But with the economy the way it is – is it really worth while?  What is the estimate of having a pool in your backyard?   So a call to the local landscaper told me that it can cost from as low as $15K to $50K – my oh my!  not many people can come up with that money – so a bank loan?  does the bank even make out that kind of loan i hear you asking – well that i will find out and let you know in another post.
