Handmade Paper Lights

I came across Portland-based Hiih Gallery’s handmade paper lights and was really impressed.  Thought i would share it with all of you.  The lamps are really handmade from the beginning to finish.  Natural materials are used and local beeswax and walnut dye.

One can also place special orders for the design they like but there are readily available designs to be purchased.  Hiih is pronounced as “hi hi” and many of their designs resembles natural form, mostly floral inspired that i fell instantly in love with. I hear that the artists make their own paper, plus the dyeing as well.  Love the soft colors on all the lamps.  Bay area residents are lucky because they can meet the artists at Berkeley’s Metro Lighting on April 24 from 5 – 7pm and Saturday, 10am – 5pm.
