Solar Powered Jar

It goes without saying if a jam jar stores jam, the Sun Jar has to store sunshine. Don’t let it’s exterior fool you; hidden inside this mundane Mason Jar is a highly efficient solar cell, rechargeable batter and three low energy LED bulbs. When the jar is placed in sunlight the solar cell creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. This energy is then used at night to power the bulbs inside the jar. The glass on the jar is frosted which causes the light coming out to be diffused; this gives the appearance of sunlight emitting from the jar. No on/off switch needed; the clever light sensor inside activates the light when it gets dark, or when the lights are turned off. Mason Jars are completely water tight so the Sun Jar can be left outside in any type of weather conditions. A perfect garden light or nightlight for the kids’ bedroom. Has similar brightness to a candle. Jar measures 6 3/8”.
